Kim Kardashian, the reality TV star and entrepreneur, has reportedly put her dream of becoming a lawyer on hold. According to a source close to Kim, she is finding the study too tedious and time-consuming, and she has other priorities to focus on.
Kim, who is the daughter of the late Robert Kardashian, a famous lawyer who defended O.J. Simpson, announced her ambition to follow in her father's footsteps in 2019. She enrolled in a four-year apprenticeship program with a law firm in California and aimed to take the bar exam in 2022.
However, Kim faced several challenges and setbacks in her legal journey. She failed the baby bar exam, a test required for first-year law students, three times before passing it on her fourth attempt in 2021. She also admitted that she struggled with balancing her studies with her businesses and family.
Kim is the founder and owner of several successful brands, such as SKIMS, a shapewear and loungewear line, and KKW Beauty, a cosmetics company. She is also a mother of four children: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm, whom she shares with her ex-husband Kanye West, the rapper and fashion designer.
Kim and Kanye divorced in 2021, after seven years of marriage and a turbulent relationship. Kim has since been linked to several celebrities, such as Pete Davidson, the comedian and actor, and Odell Beckham Jr., the NFL star.
According to The US Sun, Kim has decided to pause her lawyer dreams for now, as she is "too busy" with her other ventures and commitments. The source said: "She can't drop it without looking bad, looking like she couldn't pass it after all the work and all of her talk about how passionate she was about pushing for prison reform."
The source added: "She really struggled with the study, hated having to do the outlines and essays required to even be at a competent level and it was going to take her a few years of study to pass the exams and a few likely fails. She did some midterm exams last year and they finished her off."
Kim has been vocal about her interest in criminal justice and prison reform and has advocated for several cases of people who were wrongfully convicted or sentenced to harsh penalties. She has also met with former President Donald Trump and current President Joe Biden to discuss these issues.
However, Kim's legal aspirations have also been met with criticism and skepticism, especially from other lawyers and law students who questioned her qualifications and motives. Some accused her of using her fame and privilege to bypass the traditional and rigorous path to becoming a lawyer.
Kim has not officially confirmed or denied the reports of her taking a break from her law career. She has not posted anything related to her studies on her social media accounts for a while. She has, however, continued to promote her brands and products, as well as share glimpses of her personal life with her fans and followers.
